Caricature by George Wachsteter (1911-2004) of Comedian and Radio Broadcaster Will Rogers, who was killed along with pilot Wiley Post in a 1935 plane crash in Alaska. On 15" x 11" illustration board, circa 1955, possibly used in book, `Sanity is Where You Find It; An Affectionate History of the United States in the 20`s and 30`s by America`s Best-Loved Comedian` by Will Rogers (selected & edited by Donald Day), published by Houghton Mifflin in Jan 1955. Includes letter from Houghton Mifflin Co, Aug 1955, indicating they still have his drawings at their office. 8" x 6" image. MInor toning, editors notations.
