Eugenie "Jenny" Wiremen (American 1874-1961) Eugenie Wireman was an accomplished free-lance artist whose work illustrated the covers of not only St. Nicholas Magazine, but also The Saturday Evening Post, Lady's Home Journal, Collier's, Woman's Home Companion, The Country Gentleman, and others. Eugenie 'Jenny' Wireman studied for a short time abroad and later with the legendary Brandywine School instructor Howard Pyle, as did N.C. Wyeth and Jessie Wilcox Smith. Ms. Wireman flourished in the early 20th century at a time when female artists faced challenges making a living as an artist.
